Markham Street Parkette and Bloor Street Revitalization
In 2018 we began our Streetscape Masterplan process to develop a cohesive aesthetic vision for the Mirvish Village BIA. Taking into consideration the history of the area and the existing streetscape plans of the Westbank Development Group, we had 2 main goals:
Present a plan to remove the 5 concrete planters along the Bloor Street sidewalk in an effort to improve walkability and pedestrian traffic along Bloor St.
Design a flankage parkette on the NE corner of Bloor Street and Markham Street that will be an inclusive and inviting space that draws people into our BIA and encourages them to say a little longer. The Markham Street Parkette will speak to the new energy of Mirvish Village while still paying tribute to the history of the area.
We have now reached the next phase of our plan and are happy to share preliminary drawings of our new space.
