The BIA is undergoing a visioning project that will strive to improve the physical space in Mirvish Village BIA. We have identified three major capital projects in the short term, and with help from a City of Toronto grant, we will hire a consultant team to help us set timelines and goals for the following:
Develop a cohesive aesthetic vision for the Mirvish Village BIA, taking into consideration the history of the area and the existing streetscape plans of the Westbank Development Group.
Present a plan to remove the 5 concrete planters along the Bloor Street sidewalk in an effort to improve walkability and pedestrian traffic along Bloor St.
Design a flankage parkette on the NE corner of Bloor Street and Markham Street that will be an inclusive and inviting space that draws people into our BIA and encourages them to say a little longer. The Markham Street Parkette will speak to the new energy of Mirvish Village while still paying tribute to the history of the area.
